The Cosy TV-Shows to Watch This Summer

What better way to get into the summer feel than watching some cosy, wholesome TV-shows with a summer vibe!

1. Virgin Rivers (4 seasons, ongoing)
Cosy elements: Small town, lake, mountains, romance, caring nurse.

Mel is a nurse trying to find some peace and quiet by taking a job out in the countryside. However, she soon finds out that a small town doesn't mean there is nothing going on! Mel meets a lot of different people, some become friends, some enemies (although almost always temporarily) and one man in particular who catches her eye.

I ADORE everyone in the city of Virgin Rivers. This show feels like being let into a community and soon you'll be rooting for all members!

2. Heartland (16 seasons, ongoing)
Cosy elements: Horses, close knit family, multi generational, ranch life.

Since Amy's mom died, it's on her to keep the Heartland ranch running together with her grandfather. Even though Amy is amazing with horses, it's the people in her life who cause the most chaos. With her estranged dad, a lost foster kid, a city-loving sister and her friends, there is always something going on in this show.

This show has been such a comfort to me over the years! Because the show has a wopping 16 seasons, the characters start to feel like family. Don't worry, you don't have to watch all 16 seasons in one go. Or at all! But watching the earlier seasons at least is very worth it!

3. Chesapeake Shores (6 seasons, closed ending)
Cosy elements: Close knit family, beach town, Hallmark actors, romance, music.

When Abby O'Brien visits her family in the beach town of Chesapeake Shores where she grew up, she is in for a lot of drama caused by every generation in her family.

Abby's sisters are perhaps my favorite wholesome tv-characters. One owns a bookshop and the other tries to open a Bed and Breakfast. Could the summer vibes be any better? Actually yes, because there are so many beach scenes and shots that this will get you in a summer mood, whether you like it or not!

4. Sullivan's Crossing (1 season, ongoing)
Cosy elements: Lake, mountain, romance, small town, cast.

Maggie is a neurosurgeon who, after her boss is arrested for fraud by the FBI, goes home to the likeside park owned by her estranged dad. When legal drama keeps her in Sullivan's Crossing, she gets back in touch with old friends but also struggles to repair relationships with some of the people in town.

This is my most recent cosy find. It is based on books from the writer who also wrote Virgin River and thankfully my high expectations were met! A great cast with faces you'll recognize from Virgin River and Gilmore Girls, adding to the whole amazing setting and interesting storylines.

5. Sweet Magnolia's (3 seasons, ongoing)
Cosy elements: strong friendship, small town, family life, romance.

Sweet magnolia's follows three women as they navigate life as parents, spouses, business owners and most importantly: best friends.

Although this show is often not quite qauint enough for my taste, this show is probably the most popular wholesome tv show on the market. So it's worth trying to see if you get as quickly invested into the story as I did ;).

6. The Flatshare (1 season, closed ending)
Cosy elements: romance, charity, community, beach, British.

Tiffany and Leon live together, but they've never met. Leon uses the apartment during the day, Tiffany at night. The only way they can afford to live. Communicating mostly via post-its, they slowly learn more about eachother...

I had already read the book this show was based on and absolutely loved it, so I was a little scared my enjoyment might be tainted if the show was bad. Thankfully the show was super cute!! A lovely, wholesome one season show!

7. Little Voice (1 season, somewhat open ending)
Cosy elements: Romance, dogs, friendship, music.

In Little Voice, main character Bess tries to make it as a singer and songwriter in New York city.

Even though this show does not take place in the countryside, the feeling of community and finding your place in the world are big themes in the show! With beautiful and comforting music by Sara Bareilles this show is just a little gem!

I'm currently listening to season one, which is about multi-level marketing (also called MLM's, not to be confused by men loving men). This podcast has plenty of interesting characters that are ...

True Crime Podcasts To Binge Listen this Winter

One thing that get's me through the dark days of winter is a good story. Besides reading books and watching (probably too much) TV, I also love to curl up with a riveting True Crime podcast and get lost in the story for a day. So today I'm sharing with you my favorite binge-worthy true crime podcasts. I've tried my best to include a wide variety of crimes and these are all limited podcasts that have released the full story already, so you can start binge listening all of them right now.  1. Bear Brook  Case type: Unidentified murder victims Bear Brook is one of the best True Crime podcasts I have ever listened to. It really brings you into the community that has formed around four victims whose bodies were found in barrels in the woods of Bear Brook state park. The podcast both investigates who the unidentified victims might be through DNA and genealogy research and who might have been involved in their deaths. Especially the inside look into DNA forensics makes this podcas...
