The Cosy TV-Shows to Watch This Spring and Summer

Seasonal depression season is over, the sun is shining a lot and things are looking up! As soon as the spring season starts, I leave my procedurals behind and prefer to be whisked away to someplace bright, sweet and fun!   Today I'm sharing my favorite TV shows that are sunny, wholesome and cute!  Want to save this list to Pinterest? Here is an image! 1. Virgin River (7 seasons, ongoing) Cosy elements: Small town, lake, mountains, romance, community Mel is a nurse trying to find some peace and quiet by taking a job out in the countryside. However, she soon finds out that a small town doesn't mean there is nothing going on! Mel meets a lot of different people, some become friends, some enemies (although almost always temporarily) and one man in particular who catches her eye. I ADORE everyone in the city of Virgin River. This show feels like being let into a community and soon you'll be rooting for all members! And with 7 seasons (and potentially more coming), you can spend ...

January: A Small Collection of Art

One thing I love about art, is how it can make you feel like you aren't alone. There is such relief in someone putting into words what you are feeling, or a painting that manages to capture an experience that you felt no one shared. And there is also a lot joy in realizing that your daily joyful experiences are shared with humans! It's human connection, captured in a bottle. Or on paper. It's art. You know what I mean! In this blogpost you will find a collection of my favorite poems, quotes, illustrations, paintings and songs about January!  In this blogpost you'll find: - A quote by John Green paired with a painting by Pieter de Molijn - The Poem January, 1795 by Mary Robinson - The song 'Under my Wing' by Anna Vaus - Cosy illustrations by Monika from OchMonika - A Poem by Robert Frost - The song 'Baby Steps' by Olivia Dean A John Green Quote and Pieter de Molijn Painting If I had to guess what modern author I quote most, it would be John Green. I devou...

My Favorite Cheesy Christmas Romance Movies (Hallmark and Lifetime)

Every year around November, I start craving cheesy Christmas movies again. For years, I'd scour YouTube for full length (and probably less than legal) uploads and record every movie that was shown on television. Now with streaming and the ever growing popularity of the genre, things are starting to become a little more overwhelming. There is so much to choose from and to be truthful, their quality... it varies.  So today I'm sharing with you my list of my absolute favorite cheesy Christmas movies. These are the movies that kept me interested all the way through and had something to set them apart from the rest for me. I hope it can function as a sort of starter kit for anyone wanting to add some cheese to their Christmas season or just an inspiring list of what older movies to check out for seasoned Hallmark/Lifetime watchers! I'll be updating this list whenever I see another movie that deserves a spot on there! If you have any recommendations for me, please share them in t...

The Best Things to Watch for a Cozy, Heartwarming Christmas Season

If there is one season properly represented on television, it's probably Christmas. Truly, have you ever met someone who did not have a favorite movie to watch at Christmas? Even if it is 'Die hard'... And I cannot cast any judgement on this, as I feel Christmas isn't complete if I haven't watched at least one of the first two Home Alone movies and at least a couple Hallmark-y Christmassy romcoms.  During the holiday season, I want all the warmth, joy and cheer I can get! So today I wanted to share a list of my all time favorite things to watch during Christmas for that ultimate comforting, cozy, Christmas vibe! Do you want to save this list to Pinterest? Here is a picture! 1. A Biltmore Christmas 'A magical Hallmark romcom' I am working on a list of my favorite cheesy Christmas romance movies, so I won't fill this list with only Hallmark movies. (Update: you can click here for that list!) But I will share my favorite, that came out in 2023. It has time ...

The Best Procedurals: Cop, detective, lawyer, firefighter and medical shows

If I had to name a genre I have seen the most shows from, it would have to be the procedural genre. A procedural show is one where a problem is introduced and solved within an episode, usually in a professional setting. Police procedurals are the most well known, but technically medical, firefighter and lawyer shows follow the same format.  They are also fun shows to catch on reruns, because besides the overarching drama of the show, each episode tells it's own little story. I have recently started using and collecting DVD's, and I found this genre of TV is perfect to own for a rewatch or to get a random season from the library to watch! I want to make clear that this is simply a list of the shows I personally recommend. Some shows that I loved, didn't hold up as well as I thought (New Tricks, I will love you forever regardless) and some I just never got into, even though they are quality shows (Dexter, I'm sorry, you are loved. Just not by me!). This list is in no way ...
