TV-Shows with the Ultimate Fall Vibes

Autumn has become my favorite season the last couple of years. Nothing more comforting than a cosy blanket, cup of sweet tea and a good heartwarming show!

So today I'll share my favorite TV-shows to watch during fall!

1. Gilmore Girls
Great if you:
- Don't want anything spooky
- Want several seasons to binge
- Love the early 2000's vibes
- Enjoy character driven shows

No fall TV-show list is complete without Gilmore Girls! The original Fall TV-show about a mother and daughter trying to find their way in a little cosy town called Stars Hallow. Warning: may come with a coffee addiction. If you don't already have one! The early seasons of Gilmore Girls are especially great if you are a student, as Rory is very academically driven and may be a great motivator to study more!

2. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Great if you:
- Want something spooky yet funny
- Want several seasons to binge
- Love the 1990's vibes
- Love kick ass female main characters

It took a while for me to give Buffy the Vampire Slayer a chance, thinking the paranormal drama wasn't for me. Boy was I wrong! Turns out I love a supernatural storyline as long as it features a kick ass female lead with funny yet endearing friends and a British librarian to help them along in their adventures. The characters make this show one of my favorites now!

3. Rizzoli and Isles
Great if you:
- Like detective shows
- Want something not specifically autumn
- Love shows with family themes

In this detective show you get to know Jane Rizzoli, a Boston detective and her best friend Maura Isles, the medical examiner. Even though this show has no particular autumnal teams, it combines very cosy family storylines with creepy details on cases covered by the medical examiner! This show has a special place in my heart, which is why I rewatch at least a couple of episodes each fall.

4. Heartland
Great if you:
- Love horses, farms and nature
- Like multigenerational family storylines
- Like small town vibes
- Like to binge a lot of seasons. Like, a lot! The show is currently at 16 seasons and is still airing.

Heartland starts with Amy Fleming's mom passing away after getting into an accident trying to save a horse from it's abusive owner. Now Amy lives on a ranch with her grandfather, trying to follow into her moms footsteps. This show has SO many fun characters, both in the Fleming family as from the town the show is set in.

5. Virgin River
Great if you:
- Love the mountains
- Enjoy lots of characters with storylines

Virgin Rivers has been a much deserved, massive Netflix hit. Main character Mel comes to a small mountain town to escape from her heavy city life. Soon she will learn about all the villagers and their stories. The show is both cosy and extremely dramatic!

6. Firefly lane
Great if you:
- Love a 70's vibe
- Like time jumps
- Love stories about strong female friendships
- Want a show with a closed ending

This show is a roller coaster ride of emotions, let me tell you! Even though it made me cry more times than I can count, I grew to care so much about Tully and Kate. They meet as young teens and their friendships grows in different ways all through their fourties. The show jumps around to different points in their friendship, allowing for great 70's, 80's and 90's visuals!

8. Ghosts (UK)
Great if you:
- Want something comedic
- Like casual supernatural stuff
- Like British humor and history

Ghosts starts when Allison inherits a massive house in the English countryside. She will be the sole owner, but she has no idea she is sharing the property with a group of ghosts, each of whom died in the house and is now stuck there. Ignorence is bliss, until Allison falls from a window and comes home from the hospital, being able to see the ghosts. This all happens in the first episodes, so don't worry about spoilers. I didn't expect to get so attached to each character! They are all witty and funny in their own way. An hilarious yet cosy group of characters.

9. The Mysterious Benedict Society
Great if you:
- Want something super wholesome
- Like mystical visuals
- Want something the whole family can enjoy

I know this is supposed to be a childrens show but I am begging you to give it a chance! I don't want to spoil much, but it's based on a great childrens book and the cast is absolutely fantastic! This might be the one on this list with the most fall like aesthetic, both in the color scheme and mystical set design.

10. The Way Home
Great if you:
- Like a timetravel mystery
- Enjoy history
- Love family storylines

This show has two seasons out right now and has been renewed for a season three, which I am beyond excited about! It has time travel, cosy family life,  a small town setting, great mystery and heartwrenchingly good romance. What else could be more perfect for a fall tv show!

11. All Creatures Great and Small
Great if you:
- Like British period drama's
- Like nature and animals
- Love 'found family' stories
- Enjoy shows based on a true story

All Creatures Great and Small is about James and the peculiar veterinary practise he ends up in. This show has lots of characters to fall in love with, cosy pre-world war two sets and lots of cute animals and heartwarming tales! Watching this show felt like a free get away!

12. Little Voice
Great if you:
- Love music
- Want a more city fall aesthetic
- Are in need of a good diverse cast
- Want something short and cute

Unfortunately, this show only got one season. But it is still very much worth the watch, if only so you can dream away with the soundtrack during your busy commute. The show is about finding your voice in your twenties and plays out in New York City.

13. Sullivan's Crossing
Great if you:
- Liked Virgin River
- Enjoy small town stories
- Have a thing for Chad Michael Murray

Sullivan's Crossing is based on books written by the same author that wrote Virgin River and it shows! It's just as cosy and has just as many nature focused settings. But the characters in this show are distinct, albeit just as loveable as the ones in Virgin River. Maggie, the main character, is a neurosurgeon who has to leave her career behind after a big scandal. She hides away in Sullivan's Crossing, the place she grew up. With her dad (played by Luke from Gilmore Girls) and lots of interesting old and new faces!
